SURGERY REPS
She/her
I have always had an interest in practical skills from a young age and became interested in surgery at the beginning of medical school. I think it is an amazing and interesting field which can be varied and challenging at times. I have worked in surgical specialties for the past year and have seen this first-hand. The practical and acute aspect of surgery particularly general surgery sets it apart from other specialties. I am particularly keen to later specialise in Colorectal surgery and am planning to apply to core surgical training later this year.
I am currently a Clinical teaching fellow in the West Midlands by way of the University of Glasgow. But originally hail from South London. I have a great passion for encouraging people from diverse and poorly represented backgrounds to apply for medicine and have seen and experienced many of the challenges myself.
Being a part of WPMN allows me to put that passion to practice and hopefully inspire someone to fulfil their potential.

Hamish is a Junior Clinical Fellow working in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery. He has special interests in trauma, upper limb and hand surgery. Hamish joined WPMN as a doctor’s representative for surgery to motivate people from widening participation backgrounds to pursue a career in surgery. He is hoping to work with the Royal College of Surgeons to improve access to surgery for anyone that has an interest, no matter what their background.
